Spam Appearing to Be From FountainBay

No such thing. What you're really seeing is a spammer who is using the fountainbay.com domain name in the From: or envelope-sender fields in your e-mail. If you check the header you will plainly see that the e-mail did not originate from my mail server. Those e-mail accounts don't even exist!

What you can do: Tell your e-mail admin to use SPF or Sender-ID on the e-mail server. I have published an SPF record for a number of years now that specifies which IP addresses can send e-mail on behalf of fountainbay. There has only ever been one allowed. And you're reading this from that server.

Also, please tell your e-mail admin to stop accepting e-mails that use non-existent or unverifiable envelope-senders.

Other Mail Issues

If you can't send e-mail *to* fountainbay.com, there are several reasons that could fail, and I'll only list a few of the ones I can influence on my end:

  • You sent from a server on a block list.

  • You sent from a server that is not allowed to send e-mail for that domain (SPF).

  • You sent e-mail from an account that doesn't exist or I can't verify.

These are all issues that you need to take up with your e-mail administrator.
